Elisa started her commercial cleaning business with the support of her husband. He always believed in her ability to sell and seal any given deal. He encouraged her to make sales calls to prospective clients and was not surprised when she succeeded in getting their business. Elisa’s greatest success so far has been to be awarded four state contracts that will last for five years. Her most difficult challenge has been to keep up with the demand for her services. Elisa will use the loan from ACCION USA to upgrade equipment and to build her working capital for the period in between invoices from her contracts. The equipment will allow her to become more efficient, placing her in a position to retain more contracts and save time. And she knows saving time is saving money! She plans to purchase two high-speed floor machines (175 RPM - 1.5 HP - 15,000 sq.ft.) and a carpet cleaner. As a result of this, she won’t have to turn down so many requests for her services. In the future, Elisa hopes to expand her services to other states! However, before doing so, she wants to successfully manage her current clientele and build strong relationships that will last and bring her future referrals.
